Islam has been woven into Fulani life across the western Sahel for centuries, yet the architecture through which it is practised belongs unmistakably to the landscape. Behind Ouman stands a mosque built largely from earth — part of the remarkable tradition of earthen architecture for which Mali is famous. Thick mud walls buffer the heat of the day, while openings in the roof can be uncovered to allow hot air to escape. Even the mosque therefore responds directly to the climate from which it was made. Beside Ouman, an equally practical piece of engineering sits on two repurposed vehicle wheels: a wooden donkey cart assembled from the materials available locally. Sacred architecture and an everyday working vehicle seem very different things, yet both reveal the same principle — objects shaped by necessity, local materials and continual adaptation.
EDITIONS
Each photograph in this collection is available within a carefully defined edition structure, preserving the distinction between limited collectible works and bespoke architectural commissions.

Museum-grade, optically clear, anti-reflective glass sourced from Switzerland completes the presentation, providing 99% UV protection while preserving the clarity, colour and detail of the photograph.
Exhibition Editions and Artist’s Proofs are produced to a fixed size and specification.
Prices exclude shipping.
ARCHITECTURAL PRINTS
Selected photographs from the collection may also be commissioned as Architectural Prints, custom-produced for residential, commercial, hospitality and interior installations.
Created specifically for the space in which they will be seen, Architectural Prints can be produced in custom dimensions and a range of contemporary presentation formats, including Diasec, acrylic and aluminium mounting.
In these formats, the photographic image becomes an integral part of the finished piece, permanently bonded to its presentation and intended to remain as such.
Architectural Prints are unsigned and unnumbered and exist entirely outside the limited Exhibition Editions and Artist’s Proofs.
Please enquire to discuss dimensions, presentation and pricing.
