Architectural Prints

Created for Your Space

Selected photographs from the FCVPhotography collection may be commissioned as Architectural Prints, custom-produced to suit the scale, character and proportions of their intended setting.

From individual works for private interiors to large-scale installations for commercial and hospitality spaces, Architectural Prints can be produced in custom dimensions up to 1.5 × 12 metres (5 × 40 ft).

Rather than being constrained by predetermined print sizes, each work is considered in relation to the space in which it will ultimately be seen.

Presentation

Architectural Prints are created as bespoke works using contemporary, permanently mounted photographic processes, including Diasec, acrylic and aluminium.

In these formats, the photographic image becomes an integral part of the finished piece, permanently bonded to its presentation and intended to remain as such.

Architectural Prints are unsigned and unnumbered and exist entirely outside the limited Exhibition Editions and Artist’s Proofs.

Presentation Options

The choice of presentation is considered alongside the photograph, its scale and the environment in which it will be installed.

Diasec

Developed in Switzerland in 1969, Diasec is a face-mounting process in which a photographic print is permanently bonded directly behind optically clear acrylic.

The photograph is backed with aluminium composite, creating a rigid, perfectly flat finished work with a clean, frameless appearance and a distinctive sense of depth.

Particularly well suited to large-scale photography, Diasec creates a refined contemporary presentation in which the photograph and its mounting become a single finished piece.

Acrylic:

The photographic image is presented behind optically clear acrylic, creating a seamless, frameless work with pronounced depth and luminosity.

Particularly effective for photographs with strong colour, contrast and fine detail, acrylic provides a contemporary presentation suited to both residential and commercial interiors.

Aluminium

Produced on aluminium composite, this format offers a lightweight, rigid and understated alternative to acrylic presentation.

Available in smooth white or brushed aluminium finishes, the brushed option allows the character of the metal to remain visible through selected areas of the image.

It is particularly suited to monochrome photography and installations where weight, durability or the characteristics of the environment influence the choice of presentation.

Other specialist presentation methods may also be considered depending on the photograph, scale and requirements of the installation.

Visualise Your Space

Choosing the right photograph is only part of the process. Scale, placement and presentation can fundamentally change the way a work sits within an interior.

As part of the Architectural Print commission process, I offer a complimentary digital visualisation service, allowing you to explore different photographs, dimensions and presentation options within your own space before making a decision.

Consultations can take place in person or remotely, making the service available regardless of where in the world you are.

There is no obligation to proceed with a commission.

Step 1 — Your Space

We begin with the space in which the photograph will be installed, using photographs and measurements to understand its proportions, character and surroundings.

Step 2 — Scale & Placement

Together, we consider the dimensions, positioning and proportions that best complement both the photograph and the space.

Step 3 — Visualisation

Your preferred photographs and presentation options are digitally rendered within the space, allowing you to compare different combinations of image, scale and placement before committing to the final work.

Step 4 — Commission

Once the photograph, dimensions and presentation have been agreed, the Architectural Print is produced to the approved specification.

The final visualisation provides a reference for the scale, placement and presentation of the finished work.
