Fine-Art Prints, Artist’s Proofs & Limited Editions

The purchase of a physical artwork does not include the purchase or transfer of copyright in the underlying photograph.

This applies to all physical works produced by Freddie Child-Villiers / FCVPhotography, including Artist’s Proofs, Exhibition Editions, Architectural Prints and other photographic prints or presentations.

The purchaser acquires ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright and all associated intellectual property and reproduction rights in the underlying photograph remain with Freddie Child-Villiers unless those rights are expressly transferred under a separate written agreement.

Ownership of a physical artwork does not therefore grant the owner the right to reproduce, copy, publish, distribute, license, digitise, commercially exploit or create derivative works from the photograph.

The owner may, of course, display, resell, gift or otherwise transfer ownership of the physical artwork itself, subject to applicable law. Any such transfer of the physical artwork does not transfer copyright in the underlying photograph.

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Data Mining

The photographs, images, artworks, text and other content made available through this website may not be used without prior written permission for the training, development, fine-tuning, evaluation or operation of artificial intelligence, machine-learning or generative-AI systems.

This prohibition includes the use of website content:

in training or evaluation datasets;
for machine-learning or computer-vision models;
for generative image, text or multimodal systems;
for style imitation, image generation or model fine-tuning;
for the creation, enrichment or supply of datasets intended for AI or machine-learning purposes; or

Digital Products

Digital products made available by FCVPhotography remain protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property rights.

You are welcome to share links to pages on this website through social media, messaging services and other platforms.

Sharing a link to an FCVPhotography webpage does not grant permission to download, reproduce or separately republish the photographs or other copyrighted material appearing on that page.

Where permission has been granted to share or reproduce a photograph, any required copyright credit must be retained and the work must not be altered beyond the scope of that permission.
